A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE NIKE SB STEFAN JANOSKI
When the Nike SB line was launched in 2002, it used to only refer to one thing: Nike Dunks. The Dunk SB was the model that pioneered the Nike’s skateboarding line, and it helped make skateboarding a viable business for the brand.
Fast forward to 7 years later, times have changed. The Dunk began to lose popularity, and in an effort to keep up with the times, Nike released new lines that eventually rose to prominence.
One of the shoes under the Nike SB line was the signature skateboarding shoe of American professional skateboarder Stefan Janoski that was released in 2009.
The Nike SB Stefan Janoski represents Nike’s commitment to being part of the skateboarding community. It’s not a sneaker that was designed by a team that has no investment in the sport. It’s a shoe that was designed by a person who understands the needs and desires of a skateboarder in a shoe, and that person was Stefan Janoski.
Stefan Janoski was only the second skateboarder to get a signature shoe at the time. The move to sponsor the skateboarding icon solidified the brand’s commitment to the sport.
In the 10 years since its launch, the Nike SB Stefan Janoski has evolved into a staple silhouette for the Swoosh and is now one of the most sought-after sneakers in the Philippines.

The original Stefan Janoski is arguably one of the most recognizable silhouettes of Nike’s SB line. Considered by many as a reliable skate shoe, its enhanced grip and great board feel, as well as its minimalist aesthetic, makes it an appealing sneaker for skaters and sneakerheads alike.
